What equipment can be found in a good gym?
A gym is a place dedicated to strength sports and bodybuilding. Nowadays, spending time in the gym does not just mean workouts, but is identified with a specific lifestyle. Sports activity is a trend that is part of a healthy lifestyle and is winning over more and more supporters. At the gym, we will not only take care of our figure, but also improve the overall psycho-physical condition of the body. Before your first trip to the gym, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the basic equipment you will find there and its use.
Strength training equipment
Professional gym equipment can be divided into two categories - strength equipment and fitness equipment. Strength equipment primarily includes exercise benches. Among them, we distinguish tummy benches, which are lined with soft material, have leg grips and will allow you to perform bends and twists of the torso. Incline benches are used in bodybuilding to exercise the muscles of the chest, shoulders and triceps and have an adjustable angle. Flat benches are also used to train the chest muscles, with barbell supports placed above them. For training the biceps and triceps, broken barbells are used, with the barbell bent at an angle of 45 and 30 degrees. Dumbbells are also used for training arm and shoulder muscles. Stationary handrails are also strength training equipment, strengthening the arms and abdominal muscles by raising and lowering the body.
Professional strength training equipment are various types of atlases, which are multifunctional sports instruments that allow training of many muscle parts. The structure of an atlas is based on a frame, on which exercise stations are arranged. They can be single-station and multi-station, and their use minimizes the risk of injury compared to traditional single instruments. Exercises on an atlas begin with the selection of an appropriate load.
What other strength equipment can we meet at the gym? Butterfly machines, used for exercising back and chest muscles, overhead cranes for thigh and calf muscles, and pull-ups, which are steel cables for upper body muscles. Also popular are machines for thigh inversion and adduction, and for the quadriceps and biceps thigh muscles, in which a weighted bar is hooked about the calves.
Fitness equipment
The basic equipment for fitness training is, of course, a treadmill. It can be magnetic, electric or pressurized and has adjustable speed and incline angle. Exercising on a treadmill strengthens the legs, buttocks and abdomen. In addition, a professional gym must be equipped with a stationary bike, which is an excellent way to burn fat. Leg and buttock muscles can also be exercised on a stepper, alternately pressing its pedals against the floor. Orbiters, on which the workout resembles the movements on cross-country skis, are also popular. And let's not forget mats, rollers and leg weights.
