Acoustic curtains in sports halls. What are they used for?

Acoustic curtains are sound-absorbing curtains, the purpose of which is effective sound insulation. They are used in various types of facilities where there is a need to separate (usually temporary) space into zones, and then suppress sounds between them. Acoustic curtains are installed primarily in concert halls, theaters, auditoriums and banquet halls, trade fair and production halls, as well as swimming pools, gymnasiums and sports halls.

In this article, we will focus primarily on the characteristics that acoustic curtains used in sports halls should have.

How are acoustic curtains made?

Acoustic curtains offered by SPORT PLUS are made using modern technology of joining panels with system aluminum profiles. The panels used are PVC panels with a standard weight of 1200g/m2, joined by system aluminum profiles (kedar system). The edges of the panels, finished with kedar cord, are installed and connected with aluminum profiles during the installation of the curtain. This makes it easy to replace individual panels in case of, for example, damage or a change in the color concept of the hall.

The curtains are double-layered and allow you to effectively separate a sports hall into two or more parts. They provide not only easy division of space, but also acoustic insulation. The system of each curtain consists of two basic components: fabric and an electric motor.

Raising system in acoustic curtains

The lifting and lowering system in acoustic curtains is carried out by winding the support strips onto a set of drums located on a rotating shaft, mounted on a system of bearing supports. This uses an electric motor drive (230V, 180-250W with gearbox). When raised, the individual panels are placed aesthetically and in no way interfere with the standard use of the sports hall.

Each acoustic curtain project carried out by our company is tailored to the individual needs of the sports hall in question, thus ensuring full functionality and reliable operation in various circumstances.
